Just months after completing construction of its first North American manufacturing facility in Windsor, Colo., Denmark-based Vestas has revealed plans to develop two additional plants in suburban Denver at a total cost of approximately $300 million. The modern energy solutions provider will erect a second blade factory and its first U.S. nacelle factory about 20 miles outside of Denver in Brighton. The facilities will carry development price tags of about $185 million and $110 million, respectively. Development of the projects, which will ultimately bring 1,350 jobs to the area, is on schedule to reach completion in 2010.
