University Medical Center Buys Land for 500,000-SF Biotech Park in Dallas

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center acquired a 13-acre site from the City of Dallas for the development of BioCenter at Southwestern Medical District, a 500,000-square-foot biotech park. Sited within close proximity to the medical center campus, BioCenter's offerings will be divided into 60 percent laboratory space and 40 percent office space. The project will be erected in phases and the first four structures are on schedule to deliver in summer 2009. The architectural firm of PageSoutherlandPage is behind the design of BioCenter, while Gilbane Building Co. is serving as the general contractor.
