After three years, the sweeping renovation of the Atlanta Marriott Marquis has reached completion. Property owner Host Hotels & Resorts shelled out $138 million to upgrade the convention hotel, the largest such lodging facility in the city. Originally developed 23 years ago, the property sits at 265 Peachtree Center Ave., about 10 miles from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. In addition to its 1,663 guestrooms, Atlanta Marriott Marquis features over 160,000 square feet of meeting space, 42,800 square feet of which was produced by the overhaul. Other offerings include a 6,500-square-foot fitness center and spa, and an indoor connection to rail transportation. Atlanta Marriott Marquis also holds the distinction of being the third largest hotel in Marriott's 3,000-property portfolio.
