Ground Breaks on Aloft Hotel in New Jersey
Sept 22, 2008

Ground has broken on a 154-room hotel in Mount Laurel, N.J., that will carry Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.'s new Aloft lifestyle flag. Property owner Delco Development has tapped Grande Properties L.L.C. to develop Aloft Mount Laurel, which will sit just minutes from downtown Philadelphia and the Philadelphia International Airport. Designed by the Rockwell Group, the property will also feature a fitness facility and 5,400 square feet of meeting space. Construction of the hotel, one of several Aloft destinations that have been erected since Starwood's debut of the brand earlier this year, is on track to reach completion in fall 2009. Starwood plans to open 500 Aloft hotels around the world over the next five years.
