Simon's South Shore Plaza Slashes Carbon Emissions

Simon Property Group says its South Shore Plaza in Braintree, Mass., has significantly reduced its local carbon emissions. Simon claims the mall slashed emissions by 425 tons between 2003 and 2007, according to the Boston Business Journal.

The mall has implemented initiatives designed to maximize energy efficiency and conservation, along with expanding and upgrading energy management and heating and cooling systems, as well as installing water-efficient fixtures in public restrooms.
