Chicago Popcorn Store to Close, Make Way for Ritz-Carlton Residences

After plying their trade on Chicago's Miracle Mile for a quarter of a century, Garrett Popcorn Shops is closing its flagship shop on May 31 to make way for the Ritz-Carlton Residences. The retailer has four other Chicago shops as well as a retail outlet in New York.

Garrett also plans to pop out a few new locations this summer, according to the Chicago Tribune. The popcorn maker will open stores at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport as well as at Rockefeller Center's MSNBC.com cafe in New York, along with continuing to sell their goods online.
