In its fourth major personnel appointment in just a few months, distribution facility giant ProLogis has announced that Philip Dunne will join the company in the new position of COO/Europe and the Middle East.

Dunne, the former COO/Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Jones Lang LaSalle, will assume his new role on Dec. 1. A ProLogis spokesperson told CPN that Dunne will be based in Amsterdam and will report to Gary Anderson, ProLogis president of Europe and the Middle East.

At JLL, Dunne led the execution of business strategy across the EMEA region and also spent five years as COO for that company’s Central and Eastern Europe and Russia region. Prior to that, he had worked with JLL’s London-based European finance team.

"Philip's experience, energy and drive will be a strong addition to our European leadership," Anderson said in a statement. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in managing businesses through change and will be an important addition to our management team as we pursue our growth plans. I am delighted to have him join our team."

In May, CPN reported that Diane Paddison, previously the president of client accounts in global corporate services at CB Richard Ellis Inc., was moving to ProLogis to become executive director of global operations. Equally importantly, Paddison will succeed the company’s president & COO, Walter Rakowich, after he retires next year.

And just last week, CPN reported on the promotions of Ralf Wessel to managing director of ProLogis’ global investment management and of Simon Nelson to senior vice president of fund management and acquisitions in Europe and head of asset management for ProLogis European Properties.

On the deal side, ProLogis yesterday announced the lease to JVC America Inc. of the 540,000-square-foot New Manchester Distribution Center, just west of Atlanta. JVC will use the space to both build and distribute media products. The center is two miles south of Interstate 20 on Camp Creek Parkway, not far from Six Flags over Georgia.

ProLogis is metro Atlanta’s largest owner of industrial distribution space, with about 19 million square feet in 122 facilities owned, managed or under development. Other clients in the area include Home Depot, LG Electronics, Petco, APL Logistics and Subaru.

ProLogis is the world's largest owner, manager and developer of distribution facilities, with operations in 121 markets across North America, Europe and Asia. The company’s $38.8 billion of assets owned, managed and under development comprises more than 525 million square feet in more than 2,800 properties.
