City Signs Off $33M Conversion of Shopping Center
July 18, 2008

C.W. Clark Inc. recently got the green light from the San Diego City Council to move forward with its redevelopment of the Bay View Plaza, a San Diego shopping center originally constructed in the 1950s. Occupying nearly five acres on Clairemont Drive, the retail property sits across from the 102-room best Western Mission Bay Hotel, overlooking Mission Bay Park. C.W. Clark plans to transform Bay View Plaza into a 6 6,000-square-foot mixed-use destination with retail and office offerings. With the city council's approval in hand, the developer can demolish the 33,000 square feet of existing structures on the site in anticipation of kicking off construction this fall. If all goes as expected, the project will reach completion by the end of next year.
