First Building at 2MSF Suburban D.C. Research Campus Opens

The 120,000-square-foot office building at M Square - The University of Maryland Research Park in College Park, Md., has made its debut. Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center was the first business to sign a lease, committing to an aggregate 41,500 square feet in the four-story $24 million structure. Joint venture partners The University of Maryland, Manekin L.L.C. and Corporate Office Properties Trust are behind the $300 million development of M Square, which will ultimately encompass a total of 2 million square feet of premier, research, laboratory, incubator and office space less than 15 minutes from Washington, D.C. The NAI Michael Cos. is overseeing leasing of the property.
