W Hotels Debuts in Europe with W Istanbul

W Hotels Worldwide will mark its entry into Europe today with the grand opening of W Istanbul. Owned by Akaretler Otel Isletmeciligi ve Turizm A.S., W Istanbul features 134  guest rooms, including 26 suites, Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Spice Market restaurant, and a signature spa. Located in the Besiktas district of Istanbul the property is in close proximity to the Bosphorus Strait and Nisantasi, the SoHo of Istanbul. The project complex in which W Istanbul is located also includes a retail component.

Catskills Hotel Project Gets $525M in Redevelopment Funding
Redevelopment of the site that was once home to the Borscht Belt’s legendary Concord Hotel, in Kiamesha Lake, N.Y., has taken two major steps forward. In one, Concord Associates L.P., joint venture partner of Empire Resorts Inc., has completed a $225 million equity loan financing with Entertainment Properties Trust, a REIT based in Kansas City. In the other, the County of Sullivan (N.Y.) Industrial Development Agency has announced a $300 million bond financing for the resort’s redevelopment, the agency’s first major funding for the $1.1 billion project.
Raleigh Marriott City Center Opens
Privately held Noble Investment Group has announced the grand opening of the 400-room Raleigh Marriott City Center located at 500 Fayetteville St. and attached to the new 500,000-square-foot Raleigh Convention Center.
