Eaton Vance Funds Grab Two-Building Suburban D.C. Office Complex for $95M

A two-building office property occupied by CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield in Owings Mills, Md., has been sold to two owners. But the two funds are both managed by Eaton Vance Management's real estate investment group. Each acquired one of the 390,000-square-foot complex's structures from General Growth Properties Inc. Located at 10455 and 10453 Mill Run Circle, the office complex sits just a stone's throw from I-795 and less than an hour from Washington, D.C. Both buildings are 100 percent leased to the healthcare insurer under a long-term agreement.

First Industrial Realty Trust Inc.has announced that it has signed on to invest in two state-of-the-art distribution facilities in the heart of Belgium's "Golden Triangle." The deal concerns a two building, 1.3 million square-foot business park, which will be known as "First Park Maritime Logistics" on a site that intersects the municipalities of Bornem and Puurs.

The Federal Reserve intends to set up a special fund to lend directly to businesses that are finding it hard to borrow due to the timidity of banks in the current climate. The fund will be prosaically known as the Commercial Paper Funding Facility, and will buy three-month unsecured commercial paper. Both the Fed and the U.S. Treasury will fund the entity.
