CBRE to Be Leasing Agent for 300 New Jersey in D.C.

CB Richard Ellis Inc. has announced local real estate investor and developer Ralph Dweck selected the firm to handle leasing for Washington, D.C.’s 300 New Jersey Ave., N.W. The 10 story, 255,000-rentable-square-foot building is expected to deliver second quarter 2009. Mr. Dweck, who recently purchased the property from JBG, has called on CBRE to lease approximately 100,000 square feet. The entire project, bounded by Louisiana avenue, New Jersey Ave., D Street and F Street N.W., will be renamed America’s Square.

Emeritus to Lease 11 Seniors Housing Properties from HCP
Assisted living services provider Emeritus Corp. will soon bring a new group of seniors housing properties under its umbrella now that it has signed an agreement with affiliates of HCP Inc. to lease 11 communities accounting for an aggregate 1,462 units in six states from California to Massachusetts. The lease carries a 10-year term and allows Emeritus the option to acquire the assets during the period commencing with the close of the fifth year of the lease until its expiration. If the company decides to acquire the portfolio, the price tag will be a minimum $300 million.
2.7M San Fran Biotech Project to Welcome Pfizer to 100,000-SF Space
The Alexandria Center for Science and Technology at Mission Bay, a behemoth 2.7 million-square-foot life science cluster being developed by Alexandria Real Estate Equities Inc. in San Francisco, will become home to a division of Pfizer now that the pharmaceutical company has pre-leased 100,000 square feet at the property.
Amazon Leases 513,000-SF Warehouse Outside of Phoenix
In an effort to accommodate increasing demand, Amazon.com recently leased a 513,000-square-foot warehouse in Goodyear, Ariz., from Duke Realty.
